ISNW- MTT reviews proposals from individuals or organizations depending on the area of charitable giving. Organizations must be tax-exempt with 501(c)(3) status, or have an agreement with a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization to act as fiscal sponsor. Overseas organization need to confirm the serious illness & the financial difficulty of the patient applying.

Those interested in applying for a grant may submit an application in the timeframe required for each type of charitable giving area. Please follow the guidelines in the grant application process section of the website. After careful review, organizations that align closely with ISNW- MTT's mission and meet the evaluation criteria will be contacted requesting more information if needed or the award will given.

ISNW grants generally range from $500 to $1,000. However, the Trust will consider larger grants depending on the strength of the proposal, its relevance to our mission.

We are particularly interested in projects that have the potential to influence wider circles whether locally, nationally or globally, regarding Islamic education and interfaith dialogue.

A Few Words about Our Proposal Review Process

The Committee on Charitable Giving reviews proposals every one to two months, although the proposal development and review process can take up to six months. In reading a proposal, we consider the degree to which the project aligns with our mission, along with the potential the organization has to help address a compelling need in a community or wider culture or the need of the individual. Proposals that reflect the following characteristics, in addition to a strong resonance with our mission:

  • Strength and clarity of intention.
  • Organizational commitment.
  • Honest and straightforward communication.
  • Provision of comprehensive information.
