ISLAMIC SOCIETY OF NORTHERN WISCONSIN SEEKS IMAM FOR RAMADAN August 2010

Job Title: Imam

Location: Islamic Society of Northern Wisconsin in Altoona, WI (ISNW)

Job Description/Responsibilities: The Imam will be expected to lead Taraweeh prayers, open the masjid 5 times daily, give halaqas regularly both with the adults and the youth in the community.

Qualifications:

• Hafiz of Qur'an. It is preferable that the Imam have a bachelor’s degree in (one of) the Islamic Sciences
• Good command of the English language.
• Strong communication skills.

The Islamic Society of Northern Wisconsin is an Islamic Center and Mosque which has been registered with the State of Wisconsin and the IRS as a non profit corporation since 1991. It is a small mosque in rural America and serves the religious needs of approximately 45 local Muslim families in the Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls and surrounding area. It provides religious services for adults and children. The Islamic Center, also known as the Altoona Mosque, has an active outreach program with the Chippewa Valley Community and hosts regular visits and offers Islamic education for local Wisconsin universities as well as to local schools, churches and community organizations.
